My Little Mermaid

I remember the first time I realized I have a baby sister to take care of; it’s always been vivid and unforgettable. I may have drawn her wrong cause she’s..a lot bigger than that as a baby haha! She was quite the heavy watermelon and I loved holding her in my arms when I got a chance to.

She had this bouncy chair for her sit and sleep; anytime that she would cry, I bounced the little chair carefully just her to laugh, sometimes I even put her to sleep and hum to her. Then I would run to my mom, “Mommy, I did it! I put her to sleep!” and she always had this smile on her face.

Those were really good times, and time sure flies fast. I love taking care of my sister while she’s been growing up. Now she’s a teenager and you can imagine it’s been a lot harder to talk to her about school, or getting her to eat; we have our ups and downs like any other family, but no matter what I’ll always be there for her when she needs me even though she can be stubborn. I love my sister forever and always <‘3

Also yeah! My mom named her after Disney’s Little Mermaid. Arielle has been my mother’s favorite disney princess.

BEING AUTI || Repetitive

repetitive.png

A lot of autistic people have repetitive/ritualistic behaviors, and every one of them has different mannerisms compared to the other. Some repetitive behaviors can be harmless, some can be a little severe that it causes them to hurt themselves (such as scratching at skin). You can see that this is not all of Tim’s behaviors, mostly main ones; some that you have seen him do in the previous comics if you look back.

You can see in panel 4 there’s another hinted mannerism where he tugs his tie too hard at times when he’s very uneasy, he could accidentally choke himself a little which is why Evan makes sure to stop him right away. Some repetition can be considered as stimming depending on the person with autism; something that helps them to relax but that will be explained later in another comic.

BEING AUTI || changes

change.png

From our previous comic, autistic people can have trouble dealing with unpredictability, especially when it interrupts their routine. Little changes, that don’t seem like a big deal to others, can really trigger them and any form of reaction is different for everyone.

Tim loves Rich’s rough textured scars, it keeps him relax at time when he traces them with his fingers or pen; and of course the hand holding and cuddles are wonderful! But it doesn’t always work out when Goranski finds comfort in covering his scars in concealer to rid away the past of setting a fire; he has suffered a few PTSD symptoms as a result.

Tim is very understanding of the situation, but seeing Rich with concealer is very unsettling to him; not just cause it’s uncomfortable to touch or it’s helpful with stimming, but because he loves Rich, flaws, scars and all. Eventually though, things will work out so stay tuned!

Intimacy

Happy Asexual Awareness Week!

A wonderful someone asked if I could make something for this week, and it just so happens that I’ve been planning to create this little comic for Graham’s confession. He’s actually demisexual, but he’s more on the asexual spectrum than sexual; knowing that being ace or demi has been the underrated circle of pans, bis, polys, aros, shadowed by people outside the lgbtq community and sometimes.. within the community.

It’s very important to know that everyone is valid as long as you’re a decent human being, treating others with the love and respect they deserve.

Uhm yes I’m hungry.

i'm hungry.png

Not much of a story but I guess you could say I used to get bullied and teased a lot back in my middle and highschool days. I used to be a huge cry baby for a lot of things but otherwise there were just some things that were..really stupid as if bullies didn’t even wanna try hard enough to make fun of you.

This guy, we’ll call David(to avoid using his real name), he was this tall string bean that always tried to find ways to blow my fuse; this was the time we were at a school trip, and we spent our last hours at mcDonald’s. Him and a couple of his friend kept eyeing at me with their laughters and hand gestures, micmicking me eating loads of fries.

I get that there are such things as manners right? But otherwise, yeah, I love eating a lot of fries at once, biiig deal. Score. 😐 Some people are really just bored huh?

Speaking of hungry, I gotta make some food soon!

BEING AUTI || Routine

routine.png

Majority of autistic people enjoy an organized routine/schedule! Some set timers on their phones to complete any little task at an according time-frame, others find comfort by counting in their heads. Routines can life feel a little simpler, but life also tends to get unpredictable, and any disturbance within that routine would cause the autistic mind to be very agitated.

A little reassurance helps, a reminder that not everything is always according to schedule. With a brother like Jared and an amazing friend like Michael, Tim learns to stay calm in minor situations like this. Plus, they got some stock at the end of day!..Just as long Timtim doesn’t finish..everything XD
